Find stillness and truly BE

Hello my fellow human Beings:

During this past long weekend many of you had celebrations with family and friends, you planned and executed events, and you did many things.

With all the planning and the do, do, doing for others, did you find time to be still and be, be, BE for you?

With hefty to-do lists and not enough hours in the day, we can easily find ourselves getting caught up in running from one task to the next. Whether at work or at home, we can easily get trapped on the hamster wheel of do, do, do. We think that all the doing will bring us what we want in life – happiness, joy, love, peace, comfort, security, etc.

Yet all the doing, and the chatter that goes along with it (whether in our heads or with others), results in a lot of static that clouds the clarity of hearing our inner voice.

We can easily forget the true pleasure and treasures in life come from the simplest of things done in the fullness of the present moment.

Contemporary spiritual teacher, Eckhart Tolle, in his book, Stillness Speaks, reminds us that when we are not still in the present moment, we get lost in the busyness and the chatter of the world around us. He writes:

“When you lose touch with inner stillness, you lose touch with yourself. When you lose touch with yourself, you lose yourself in the world.

Your innermost sense of self, of who you are, is inseparable from stillness. This is the I Am that is deeper than name and form.”

When we are able to pause and find stillness, we can truly be – truly be us, truly be in the present moment, and truly be with family, friends and pets.

In the stillness, we can connect to our authentic self, our inner strength, our inner wisdom.

In the stillness, we can hear our inner voice guiding us on the path of joy, peace and love.

In the stillness, we can truly be ourselves (not the person others want us to be or the person we think others want us to be).

We can dare to live our authentic selves.

We can dare to dream big.

We can dare to take the path less trodden.

So as you start this new week and new month, remember the importance of finding stillness and truly being you.

I encourage you to find time daily to PAUSE, to be still, to connect to your true self – your source of strength, wisdom and answers.  By finding stillness, you open the door to a new heaven and you start living an abundant life now!
