I have been thinking all week about what topic I would write about this time.
What to write? What to do?
I struggled with what to do, especially with all the unrest going on in the world.
I listened to a dharma talk and read some of the writings of Vietnamese Buddhist monk and peace activist, Thich Nhat Hahn, and the answer became crystal clear. Brother Thäy (Vietnamese for Teacher), as his students affectionately call him, writes:
“A flower does not have to do anything to be of service, it only has to be a flower. That is enough. A human being, if she is a true human being, is enough to make the whole world rejoice.”
So I offer this message to you as well. Don’t worry about doing the right thing, JUST BE.
Truly and whole-heartedly BE your True Self.
BE LOVE, BE PEACE, BE JOY. Let it seep from every pore of your Being.
Be what you want to see in the world. Relinquish your need to judge. Relinquish your need to label. Just be still and BE. It is your precious gift for the world.
May you make an effort this week to pause from all the doing, to be still, to be YOU and to live abundantly!
